WISH UPON A STAR

Tonight
I'll go out
at dusk
to watch
the stars
appear.
I'll wish
upon the first
I see.
I hope
the sky
is clear.

When was the last time you wished upon a star?  Isn't it wonderful we have stars and can wish upon them?  What would you wish for?  Can you write a poem today about one of your wishes or dreams?

  2. Joy,
I'd wish for one more poem from Joy before the night was done! Just like kids ask for another story!

    1. Poetry can do wonderful things for us. Just walk right into this one and see how it feels on your tongue.

  3. Joy, your wish poem is one that a young child could relate to. I have not see a beautiful starry sky is so long but wish for one to come back. Here is my morning wish as I look out my window.

I wish upon a morning bright
to fill the day with brilliant light
that streams in through my window here
and washes away any lingering fear.
(of rain since today is my association's celebration of student authorship)

Have you considered my offer to write for Spring's Symphony. The latest invitation is at http://beyondliteracylink.blogspot.com/2015/05/may-blossom.html.

    1. You're welcome. Now, go wish--and wish BIG. May your dreams come true.

  5. I love staring at the heavens. When I was young I used to wish on the first star, but only wished for good weather. I found that was the only wish that would ever come true - and that is more a factor of having a clear sky at night instead of a cloudy (rainy forecast) sky the night before. I love a starry sky. But not for wishing.

    1. Oh, Donna,
You definitely need to wish bigger. How about a dancing on the roof type wish? I'm wishing for beautiful weather and beautiful dreams for you.

    2. Thanks -

      Perhaps I will try...
      On the first night sky
      That has one star
      To toss wish far
      Into dark realm
      With heart at helm
      And ask for more
      Than ever before
      If in the trees
      I hear night's breeze
      Whisper "Wish come true"
I know I owe it all to you.
