Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

SATURDAY CHORES

Today I'll change my sheets
and tidy up my room.
I'll put my toys away
and get the job done--zoom.

I'll straighten all my books
and put clean clothes away.
I'll do all my chores,
It's Saturday, cleaning day.

Do you have Saturday chores?  Can you make a list poem today about all the things you have to do?  Have fun writing.

  1. I'm so glad it's Saturday
it's time to paint, it's time play
My blues and greens collide and splat
    I paint a wall, a cat, a hat
before I finish all of that
My mama yells, "Get in here, stat!"
    It was my paint-and-playing day...
    but now it's chore-filled Saturday :(

    1. Donna,
This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing and for tagging on facebook.
I like your poem a lot, it really captures a kid's voice. Well done.

  2. You amaze me. How many poems have you written in your lifetime? Every day for how many years, now? I am working toward being that disciplined... but you rock. :)
