THE LIZARD

A lizard dashed
across the patio
racing in the sun.

With his tail curled
over his back
he made it look
like fun.

If you are patient; if you wait and watch, everything moves.  Be still and watch for a moment.  What is moving around you?  Are you moving?  Can you write a poem today about the movement?  This should be a good poem for using exciting verbs.  Have fun writing.

Today's Poetry Friday Roundup is being hosted by Tabatha Yeatts.  Head over to her blog for today's party. Thanks, Tabatha for hosting us.  I just love Fridays.  So much good poetry to read.  So many new things to learn.

  1. Thank you for this fun poem and poetry challenge. "If you are patient; if you wait and watch, everything moves." What a great thought to take into nature -- and so true.

  2. There are so many lizards around here, I promise you won't have to wait very long to see one dashing across our patio... maybe a millisecond. I love them though, and your poem too!

  3. "with his tail curled over his back"--a great detail that made the moment come alive for me!
