Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

I DID IT MYSELF!

I DRESS MYSELF

I put on my shirt.
I did it.

I button my shirt.
I did it.

I pull on my pants.
I did it.

I put on my belt.
I did it.

I buckle it.
I did it.

I pull on my socks.
I did it.

I put on my shoes.
I did it.

I did it all.
Almost.

Will you help me tie my shoes?

Take one of your daily tasks like combing your hair, brushing your teeth, feeding the dog, making your bed.  What are the tools you need to perform the task?   What are the steps you follow to complete the task?  Try writing a poem about the work you do to get out the door each morning, (or to get into bed each night.)  Have fun writing.
