This is a concrete poem. It takes the shape of the thing the poem is written about. Linda had asked for a snake poem, so here it is. Can you write your own shape poem?

ReplyDeleteIt wasn't easy. I did it the old fashioned way. I wrote the poem out long hand first and then looked where the letters fell. so then I typed in each line with lots of spaces between each letter. When I first previewed the poem, the lines wrapped, so I had a terrible mess and had to delete spaces in each line to get it to look right. I'm certain there is an easier way. I wonder if I wrote it in adobe or as a PDF first if I could just sculpt the lines. I'm going to have to talk to some of my illustrator friends and see if there is an easier way. But it did cause me to put no, beat and fe, et on a line and I think that made it look better than if it all were even and uniform.
