Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

Thank You

I love racing
along the beach.
Love the cool sand
between my toes.
Love the tickle
of foaming ocean bubbles.
I'm lucky.
Thank you
beach,
ocean,
sand,
sun.
My life
is fun.

I owe the inspiration for this poem to writer extraordinaire Joan Edwards.  Thank you.  What things are you thankful for?  Soap bubbles, chocolate cake, dancing, raking leaves?  Can you write a poem about it?  There are so many blessings and lots of poems.  Thank you.

  2. Dear Joy,
I am bowing humbly. I've never had anyone to call me "writer extraordinaire." I'm glad that I inspired you to write this poem. I love the beach. Its footprints in the sand. The dunes to climb. The sandcastles swept away forever.
Standing in low tide waters. Letting the salty surf cover my skin.

Do something to enjoy yourself today.

  3. Thank you Joan,
I'm sorry you had trouble leaving a comment, but I'm certainly glad you did. I love the image of those sand castles washing away.
Thanks for being such a great writing buddy. I know you understand the joys and pleasures of creating on paper. What a blessing you are. I hope you do something to celebrate today.
