Gila Monster

Out in the desert
where winds blow hot
a gila monster rests
in his favorite spot.

His face is black.
He has sharp teeth.
He's scouting for
a dinner feast.

His body is covered
in shiny scales.
He knows he'll go hungry
if his hunting fails.

If you had to describe yourself as an animal, what animal would you chose?
for today, can you write a poem about an animal.  Remember, have fun.

  1. Joy,
For many, it's all about survival. This poem made me think of people who are doing their best to survive. Focusing on one might lead to a touching poem.

Aren't we all doing the best we can to survive?

  3. Joy,
For some reason, my subscription to your blog post stopped arriving. I'm not sure why. I tried signing up again, but it still didn't arrive. I'm trying again now. I'll let you know if it works this time.
