How Tall Are You?

I'm taller than
the azalea bush
or the kitchen table
higher than my car
or my dress label.

I'm shorter than the refrigerator
or a pine tree
but I'm taller than the bird feeder
or a bumble bee.

I'm taller than chocolate cake
or a little flea
I wonder how tall you are
won't you please tell me?

How tall are you?  What are you taller than?  What are you shorter than?  can you write your poem about it?

  1. Tall Enough

    I'll taller than a tease
    or whisper behind my back,
    but not quite tall enough
to stand up for who I am.

  3. Hi Joy,
Thanks for comment about this poem being a great start. I take that is a great compliment coming from you.

I realize now that I didn't write about what I'm shorter than. I could consider that for a second stanza.

Thanks for your kind comments about me. I was writing this like someone who feels she should be "bigger" than certain hurtful behaviors. I enjoyed challenging myself to think beyond concrete objects.
