Welcome

This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

Summer Heat

Turn on the sprinkler,
let's get out of this heat.
We can spray and splash
and get wet feet.
Running in the sprinkler
is pretty neat,
it can't be beat
when you are surrounded
by all this heat!

What do you do to beat the heat in summer?  Do you sit in the shade and read a book?  Do you go to the movies or the library where it is air conditioned?  Do you make popsicles?  Eat cold watermelon?
Try writing your own poem about beating the heat today.

  2. Great fun jumping the sprinkler and running through it. One of life's simple joys.
