Sandy's Destruction

One neighbor brought milk.
another brought ice
In times of crisis, like this
I realize most people are nice.

Let's be creative today.  Can you write a poem about Hurricane Sandy, or about things you can do to help?  Do have fun.

  1. I like this a lot, Joy! I wanted to mess around with the punctuation and capitalization a little:

    One neighbor brought milk,
    Another brought ice.
    In a crisis like this,
    Most people are nice.

  2. I saw on the news that someone had used a long cord and draped it over the fence to help others charge their phones. This is just a little piece of human kindness that one sees isn't it?

  3. I just thought of another possible name, too:
    "Sandy's Instruction" - ha!

    1. You're right, Tabatha.
"Sandy's Instruction" is a much better title.
Titles are something I'm not very good with. Thanks for the help.

  4. Joy,

Many years ago, my mom and I washed all the clothes left in the dirt after a tornado destroyed a family's home. There's usually something that people can do. Thanks for reminding us.
