Welcome
This is my playground for poetry written for children with ideas and inspiration for writing your own poems. Come on in. Sit for a spell, have a cup of words to swirl around and make your own cup of poetry. I'm so glad you are here. I hope you'll find the Kingdom of Poetry a fun place to be.

Arizona Slide
Come with me.
Do not hide.
Take my hand.
I'll be your guide.
March up the stairs.
Let's take a ride.
Let me show you
fun on the slide.
This is a slide in Carefree, AZ. Notice the sun shade over the slide. In Arizona most of the playgrounds for children have sun shades. Without the canopy, the metal on the slide bed would scorch and possibly burn. What is your favorite piece of playground equipment? Can you write a poem about that today.

Smart thinking to cover the slide. Safety first!
ReplyDeleteYup the covered playgrounds have some advantages. Thanks for your comment, L:inda.
DeleteMy granddaughter would rather swing than anything.
ReplyDeletePumping, pumping, pumping high.
Feet kick, toes point toward the sky.
Swinging, swinging, to and fro,
Back and forth, high and low.
Thanks for a fun prompt.
Oh Rosi,
DeleteThank you for sharing. I like your swing poem a lot. It brought back some fond memories of swinging with a young special needs boy the first time I substitute taught in a handicapped classroom. Those kids were so special.
