I'm Sick

I think I am sick.
My body feels like ick.
My tummy is rumbly.
My bowels are grumbly.
I wish this bug would go away.
I'm going back to bed today.

Yesterday, I wasn't feeling up to par.  I spent the whole day sleeping and was going to skip today's post but then I thought everyone doesn't feel great all the time and that is worthy of a poem.  Can you write a poem today about being sick?  Have you ever broken a bone, thrown up or needed a band-aide?  Can you write a poem about that today?  Make poetry.  Have fun.

  1. I didn't get my flu shot
    Then I got the flu.
    Boo hoo, Boo hoo.

    Always get your flu shot.
    It doesn't hurt at all.
    It won't make you bawl.

    1. Cute Ray, it just needs a little work with meter.
      Thanks for making me happy.
I do hope you get that flu shot.
I did not have the flu, it was an intestinal bug, which after a day of sleeping it off, I'm now fit.

  2. Joy, sorry to hear--
    you're feeling poorly,
    under the weather,
    all tucked in,
    quilt up to your chin.

    So sorry to hear--
    you're being held hostage
    by an uninvited guest--
the flu bug or a cousin.
    Take up the welcome mat
hang a "Do not disturb" sign
    from the front door.
    Accept no visitors.

    Hurry and get well,
    drink lots of fluids,
    get plenty of rest
    unless the potty calls.
    If so, answer without question.

    1. Oh what fun! Two poems in one day. Well done. Linda, I love the last line of your poem. Exactly, I spent a lot of unproductive time on the pot--or as my kids would say TMI.

    2. Joy, I'm so happy to hear you're doing well. I'm glad you enjoyed the ending of my poem. I had hoped it would bring a smile on a dreary day.
