Happy Friday

At half dawn
the rooster crows
his feathers
a soft gray
his voice
a loud crowing,
greeting the sun
that has decided
to rise
another day.
Happy Friday.
This is one day,
his day
the one to live
before
tomorrow.

This poem is about today for the rooster.  But how do you think the gecko, the rabbit, a pig or horse sees Friday?  Today's writing challenge is to write a poem from the view point of an animal.

Let's crow about all we have to be thankful for.

  2. Dear Joy, I love your poem and could not resist Linda's suggestion. Inspired by your words...

    I am thankful for rooster
    and his feathers soft gray
and his caws that announce each dawning new day.
I am thankful for sun and his choice to arise
    with sunbeams(everwarm)-an early morning surprise.
I am thankful for today- fabulous and fun
a day to live, to voice, and be Friday-happy
in the company of friends and rooster and sun.

Wishing you both a happy day.
